Improving Parent Engagement in Schools and at Home

Research

Whereas evidence suggests that family engagement is key to narrowing the advantage-based achievement gap, more research is needed on what kinds of family engagement activities are productive and how schools can successfully encourage these activities.

About TIME (Technology in Math Education) II Survey

The Study

This national survey of PreK-4 educators aims to help us understand the landscape of learning tech adoption in schools and educators’ beliefs about their role in facilitating student learning and parent engagement at home. This study will answer important questions about barriers to equal access to learning tech across families with young children in the PreK-4 continuum. Generously supported by Carina Initiatives.

MAP4Parents Phase I

The Study

MAP4Parents Phase I sheds light on why parent engagement programs have had at best modest success at improving child outcomes and uncovers the reasons parents fail to fully participate in such programs. These reasons will inform the development of a behaviorally- informed intervention. Generously supported by Paul M. Angell Family Foundation.
